Loretta Lam is president of national marketing communications firm Focus Communications Inc. (www.focuscomms.com) Since 1994, the Markham-based firm, with operations in Vancouver, offers strategic counsel and full services in corporate communications, public relations, event management, advertising, multicultural marketing, and training to client corporations coast to coast and in the USA. The company is expanding through its strategic alliances to serve clients from and in Greater China.
With over 20 years of professional experience in marketing and public relations, Loretta has formerly held management and consultant positions at leading multinational firms such as Hill & Knowlton Canada, The Communications Group in Toronto, and Ogilvy & Mather (Asia) Ltd. in Hong Kong. She has extensive management experience with high profile clients in North America and Asia. Some of her renowned client projects include: CEO and senior executive media training and media tours for Canadian Securities Institute, TD Bank Group, 3Com, and Dell Computer in Canada; national product launch for PepsiCo, Pioneer, Philips, Sharp, and Harley-Davidson; media and industry relations programs for Ernst & Young Management Consultants’ partners in Canada and U.S.A.; integrated marketing campaigns for Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Heinz Canada, Weston Bakeries, General Motors, Volkswagen, and Franklin Templeton Investments.
She instigated the “bridging the Chinese and Canadian markets” initiative in 1995 at CCAMMA when she was the president. She has successfully introduced the association and the Chinese market to key mainstream industry associations and media, including Marketing Magazine’s first special feature on Chinese Canadian Advertising Awards, which evolves to become the current annual Multicultural Marketing Report.
Loretta is a Chinese Canadian Entrepreneur Awards winner in 1998 (www.acce.ca), is an active speaker and frequent article contributor in areas of marketing and Asian marketing in the Canadian marketing industry and Chinese community.
