Changes to Express Entry to benefit applicants, including international students

As expected, Citizenship & Immigration Canada has announced modifications to Express Entry Programme. Foreign graduates with a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate from local educational institutions will be awarded up to 30 additional points. The new ranking system will likely ease path to permanent residency for skilled workers and international students, a fair percentage of which are Chinese and South Asians.

Chinese Canadians root for favourites at MCTP 2016

Organized by Fairchild TV, Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant (MCTP) is one the of most renowned annual pageants in Canada. Every year, MCTP creates a buzz in the Chinese community and is a great opportunity for brands to ride on to reach out and engage with target ethnic audiences. MCTP 2016 will take place on Nov 18.

Visits to Canada rise more than 10% in first eight months of 2016

Thanks to a strong summer in tourism sector and sharp growth in Chinese tourists, international travel to Canada in the first 8 months of 2016 rose more than 10% from last year. Chinese tourists make up a large part of it, with 22% increase compared to 2015. According to Stats Canada, China is now the third largest source of tourism to Canada, after the United States and Britain. Ottawa also announced earlier that 2018 will be Canada-China tourism year.
